Netsuite Tricks & Tips

Search Engine Optimization in Netsuite can be challenging. This section of the website has been created with the intention of helping companies that use Netsuite as their storefront and content management system.

First Tip:
Do not use the Meta-Data Field in the setup website admin. This will create duplicate meta-tags or simply create the same meta data on every page.
All search engines like to see unique meta-data on each page. Use the meta-data field on the store tab for each item and category page.
Google has depricated the meta name=”keywords” tag in it’s algorythm but others have not so it is a good practice to use it. Don’t stuff it with keywords. Keep it simple.
The meta name =”description” tag is important to use and use it wisely. This is what Google and Yahoo uses under your link in the results of a search.

Second Tip:
Title Tags:
Create unique title tags for every page on your website. Don’t put you company name first. Your site is problably already number one in every search engine for your company name. Place your most important keywords at the beginnng of the title. Google reads like a human.. Left to Right and Top to Bottom. Don’t stuff your title tags either. Once again keep it simple. Google loves simplicity and relativity.

Third Tip:
If you have hundreds of pages on your site use the CSV import functionality in Netsuite to optimize your pages. This will save you time while optimizing your pages. Export your products and then reimport them to optimize your page titles, meta-tags, and URL components. Remember if you change your URL component you have to do a 301 redirect if that page or pages is already being indexed by Google.
